Back in May right before I left for my new job in Texas, some good friends of mine called me up and asked me if I could take their engagement photos for them because their original photographer bailed on them literally at the last minute. I had sold my Sony DSC H2 about two months earlier to save up for my digital SLR camera which as of a few weeks ago is a Nikon D5000. To solve this no camera dilemma, I called my sister who had just bought a digital Fuji camera. So there I was nervous about taking photographs for a couples engagement announcement and with a camera that I was not in the least bit familiar with. After the couple came over we discussed possible shooting locations. Amanda had one place in mind as did I. The first place we went was to a set of railroad tracks in Provo. I did not know how to do poses so I just asked Amanda if she had any poses in mind and I used those to get my creative juices flowing. We spent about 45 minutes at the railroad tracks, and then we went to Nielsens Grove in Orem. We spent about an hour there and the following photos are my some of my favorites from the shoot.
